About Tsap

The Tanzania Society of Animal Production (TSAP) is a professional, nongovernmental, non-profit, and non-religious organization founded over 40 years ago with a major goal of bringing together workers, researchers, producers, processors, consumers and other stakeholders in the fields of livestock and fish sciences and production. The organization is dedicated to managing, developing and promoting livestock and fish production in Tanzania. One of the core activities of TSAP is to bring together all stakeholders in a Scientific Conference of the society which is held once every year in a place decided by Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Basically, TSAP is working to provide crucial platform that brings together outstanding scientists, policy makers, professionals and students from interdisciplinary fields of Animal Science, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Economics and other stakeholders with interest in the livestock and fisheries industries to share their potential ideas and experience with an eye to further heighten the performance of the vital socioeconomic sector in Tanzania.

Moreover, in general focus to support industrialization through livestock and fish value chains under changing climate, TSAP is working on, and opens roundtable dialogues to help discuss and addresses emerging issues in livestock and fisheries value chains under climate change, land use for sustainable livestock and fish development, livestock intensification and assisted reproductive technologies, institutional capacity building for sustainable livestock and fisheries production, as well as gender aspects in livestock and fisheries towards industrialization.

TSAP is aspiring to become an active member of the WORLD ASSOCIATION for ANIMAL PRODUCTION. TSAP has recently been working on matters pertaining to Sustainable Animal Production Fisheries in a World of Covid-19 Pandemics, specifically, on impact of Covid-19 on livestock and fisheries production in Tanzania, technological innovations for mitigating effects of Covid -19 on livestock and fish production, but also, in enabling policies strategies for improved efficiencies in the livestock and fisheries value chains.

VISION
To become a highly competent and well-resourced institution in guiding and steering participatory and integrated land use planning for sustainable development.

MISSION
Ensuring preparation and implementation of land use plans with a view to create equitable and secure land tenure, enhance land productivity and ensure both environmental and biodiversity conservation.
